The brothers got to know all the families who were at the Sonnenhof that day. Toni was particularly impressed by the size of the house, in which eight children and teenagers find space and the loving design. The conclusion of the tour was the visit of the large garden and a very special place: At a small pond there are small memorial stones with the names of the children who died in the Sonnenhof. Some of the stones have already lost their writings through the water, but the stones symbolize the constant memory for every child. In this quiet place Toni and Felix spent a moment full of thoughts and sympathy. But as in life, joy and grief in the Sonnenhof are close together. Because next to the small pond there is a great playground and a large meadow that invites you to play.
After the tour, the families met again with Toni and Felix for a happy coffee chat. There were also some families visiting, which the Toni Kroos Foundation had helped in the past. Toni had small presents for the children which were signed and of course many selfies were shot.
To conclude, the Kroos brothers left a special souvenir: At the beginning of their inpatient stay at Sonnenhof, each child receives a small, colorful glass with his name on it. This is then hung on a huge wall on which a forest was painted, where animals jump around and many colorful flowers bloom. The child chooses a place for the glass. This glass then symbolically expects the child if it should come back to a hospital stay. Now there is also a glass for the Toni Kroos foundation, signed by Toni and Felix.
It was a great, unforgettable afternoon for Toni and Felix at the Sonnenhof. We look forward to help many more families.
