Sebastian dares a new beginning

Sebastian is 25 years old

and is suffering from muscular dystrophy Duchenne and Asperger's Syndrome. The young man is accompanied by the Björn Schulz Foundation. He can speak, move his head, hands and sit in a wheelchair. 18 hours a day, he is ventilated and needs care around the clock. His mother also sits in a wheelchair and takes care of her son alone after her father's death.

Unfortunately his care service terminated their services at short notice at the end of August and new help was quickly not available. But his mother could find a facility, where Sebastian could stay at least overnight for four weeks, not in Berlin. She herself also found a new and financeable accommodation.

In support of the two, the Toni Kroos Foundation took over the transport to this facility and the transport to the care facility on morning and evening. During the stay Sebastian and his mother visited the thermal baths and the bear park and felt so comfortable that they left the familiar surroundings in Berlin and settled.
