The fact that a mat can have a good reason not only in gymnastics or wrestling, was shown last year at the Cologne Marathon: On October 7, almost 30,000 runners started through the cathedral city. The team of the Toni Kroos Foundation had set up a station at the Aachener Weiher.
The runners could step over the mat and so were able to generate donations for the foundation. The pleasing result: 10,000 euros were raised so that we as a foundation can make many children's eyes shine again. The proceeds from the marathon are used on a project basis. The childrens‘ hospital Amsterdamer Straße in Cologne plans to implement the diabetes concept "SuRf" for children who have been diagnosed with diabetes for the first time (DMT 1) by mid 2020 in cooperation with the University of Sports in Cologne. The focus is on a sporty exercise program and mindfulness-based stress management training.
Together we can achieve much more!
