The Children's Home in Viersen
The Children’s Home in Viersen is a cosy home for children requiring the most specialised intensive care. It is a place which enables them to discover a new quality of life together with their parents. The institution offers families a great deal of relief and has been our partner institution since summer 2019.
The Children’s Home in Viersen in North Rhine-Westphalia offers room for up to 14 children and adolescents who are severely multi-disabled and who have to be permanently ventilated. At this institution they find a new home with professional care and live in a joint residential community. A large, comfortable dayroom invites residents and visitors to linger and there are small cosy corners in the colourfully designed house. Parents are welcome at any time and can stay overnight in the guest rooms of the Children’s Home.

Here an environment is created for each child that allows him or her as much independence and normality as possible. Adapted to the needs of young and old guests, there is a range of activities to suit all ages.
A multi-professional team of nursing staff, teachers and therapists ensures comprehensive individual attention and palliative care.
Medical care is provided by a registered private-practice paediatrician. In an emergency, the neighbouring St. Nikolaus Children's Clinic is ready to help and diagnostic and therapeutic procedures can also be carried out there if necessary.
The children receive special attention from members of the “Initiative Schmetterling” (“Butterfly Initiative”), an association that is involved in the Children’s Home in Viersen on a voluntary basis and which takes care of each individual child depending on need.
